Two things: Ken Robinson is adorable. You know I have that distinguished, older man thing. But more importantly, I couldn't help but think about how right he is and how all of "us" know it but that the minute I forward this thought to the powers at will, even on the campus level, I will be dismissed immediately and likely no one will even listen to this. If they do, I doubt they get to the end and if that happens, it will be the condescending "isn't that Lisa sweet...all wrapped up in her own little arty world." Delete. I think this issue is what I meant when I exclaimed "I'm much too smart to be an administrator" when asked when I was going to get my principals certification. No arrogance intended, its this issue that drove me to the statement. I half intended to be funny yet the other person didn't laugh but agreed. It was an odd moment but the totality of it is that this is a huge problem. The administrators that would embrace this way of educating young people, will never become administrators. If they do, I think they quickly abandon any hope of making this happen. Its sad. Sad for kids.
